*** Updated Grill Regulations for Condo’s ***

The North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District has updated their Regulations for multi-family dwellings this year. While no type of devices used for cooking, heating, or any other purpose was permitted on the lanais / balconies of condo units under last year’s regulations, this year they permit the use of electric portable, tabletop grills, not to exceed 200 square inches of cooking surface.

The 200 square inches is calculated for the entire heated surface. If you have a Panini or George Foreman style cooking apparatus which has cooking surfaces on top and bottom, the total of these surfaces shall not exceed the 200 square inch limit.

Please be sure to use any cooking equipment with great caution and ensure that all devices are attended at all times closely monitored while in use and properly cooled and unplugged before storing.

Other regulations for use of non-electric grills and storage requirements for gas bottles have not changed. Storage of LP gas bottles is limited to a maximum capacity of 2.7 lb (1.2 kg) per container and an aggregate capacity of 5.4 lbs (2.4kg) per each living space ( Unit ).

The requirement for outside grills to be used in your drive at least 10 feet (3m) away from any structure is still in affect.
