*** Residents Assistance Requested ***

Good day to All,

Partially in response to a recent increase in unauthorized , non-residents gaining access to our Clubhouse and Pool facilities and partially just as a generally good security practice for the world in which we live, I am writing today to request that everyone cooperate in assuring the safety of yourselves and your neighbors.

The Association as a whole goes to great lengths and consideration ( and no small expense) to provide a safe and secure environment within the walls of Marbella Lakes. To that end we have determined that one of the main contributing factors to unauthorized access to the facilities is being inadvertently provided by our own residents. The practice of “opening doors” for people you do not know or recognize as fellow residents may seem the “polite” thing to do at the time, however, it is completely negating all of the security protocols and safe guards that your Association has put in place.

I do understand that it is difficult and uncomfortable to ignore someone trying to enter the Clubhouse, fitness center or pool area, but you would not open a locked access door at the airport or at your child’s school for someone you are unfamiliar with, so if you look at your Community safety in the same way, it should be easier to make that judgment call and ignore or tell someone you cannot let them in because you do not know them. ( Please do not “challenge” individuals, this is not a safe practice ). If you are uncomfortable with a situation pls. notify one of the staff or call the Gatehouse for assistance.

By the same token, please be aware of the position you place your neighbors in by asking someone you do not know to allow you access. If you forgot your access card, please go home and get it. This is the most simple way to greatly reduce the number of unauthorized people entering the facilities.

We will continue to make every reasonable attempt to ensure the safety of the Community and protect the Association’s property, however, as residents I would ask that everyone do their part to assist.
