I have had a few questions about Holiday waste disposal today.. Please see below instructions I have copied from the Collier County website. Wednesdays are our regular Bulk Trash Pick up days and please do not attempt to use the Clubhouse Dumpster for disposal af any personal household trash or Christmas trees. We do not have the capacity to allow residents to utilize the dumpster and anyone found illegally dumping items in the container will be held responsible for the collection fees for the next emptying of the Dumpster. If you follow the County guidelines you should have no issues. If you did not have your tree collected today, please store the tree in a safe place within your home or garage until the next Collection cycle.
How do I dispose of my Christmas tree if I have residential curbside service?
Single family residences with curbside collection service may place Christmas trees curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day and the tree will be collected free of charge. Trees must be free of all decorations including lights, tinsel, ornaments, etc. Do not wrap trees in plastic. Trees over six feet in length must be cut in half.
Trees should be placed curbside before 6:00 a.m. on your yard waste collection day (but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the evening prior).
I live in a condominium with commercial service, how do I dispose of my Christmas tree?
Multi-family complexes – those with dumpster and compactor service – contact your property management. Do not pleace trees in dumpsters or compactors.
Christmas trees may also be taken to one of Collier County’s Recycling Drop-off Centers at no charge.
What do I do with my cardboard and Christmas gift boxes?
Christmas gift boxes can be reused or be placed in your recycling cart. Cardboard boxes will only be recycled if broken down flat. Cut large boxes in a size not to exceed 3 feet by 3 feet. Flatten and place small boxes into your recycling cart. Make sure the cardboard does not stop other recyclables from being emptied. Remove all paper and/or packing material. You may place large flattened cardboard next to your recycling cart on the day your recycling is collected. Remember that if you choose not to break down your boxes or place them in your recycling cart, they will not be recycled.
Thank you for your cooperation,
