I have had an unusual amount of complaints recently regarding parking issues throughout the neighborhood. Thus I felt it would be a good time to send a reminder to all residents that we do have very specific Rules and Regulations pertaining to parking within the community. These rules apply to all residents and their guests and are in place for the protection of everyone. They are part of the Home Owners Rules and Regulations that every owner and tenant read and signed as part of the H.O.A.’s Lease / Purchase Agreements and as such, are enforceable by the Boards up to and including violation fines and towing at the “Owner’s / Legal tenant’s ” expense.
The chief complaints I have been receiving and addressing are “on street parking” on Monterey Point in the Condominium area and overnight parking on Del Mar Terrace and Marbella Drive.
Neither of these are allowed by the HOA documents and violations of these will be treated as a serious safety violation ( as a few have already found). On street parking restrictions in the Condo area are in place due to the width of the street, by County Ordinance there is no on street parking because it does not allow for passage of emergency vehicles. That aside, it creates safety hazards for drivers and pedestrians alike. In that vein, I also want to ask that all residents be mindful of their speed within the community. There are so many walkers and pets and children, not to mention ducks and turtles, on the sidewalks and crossing the streets that it amazes me that some residents continue to drive with what seems to be no regard for the safety of their neighbors for the few hundred yards you are in the community.
This is a small community of wonderful people and I have to believe that sometimes people just forget where they are and that your actions (good or bad) directly affect everyone around you. A little courtesy goes a long way…Please just take a moment to give some thought and consideration to your neighbors and perhaps everyone will be a little safer and a little happier.
